Since you're here, the first place to check for information would be simply by clicking on the "home" icon below and returning to the first card in this stack. Click on "AIDS Information in Your Area" and you'll find a variety of AIDS information resources. Feel free to call any of the numerous Hotlines or organizations listed, and don't be shy about calling an organization with the word "GAY" in their name. These organizations do not discriminate. As one of the first groups affected by AIDS, Gays have mobilized and established a vast network of support and information which is freely shared. Several of the organizations listed in The AIDS Stack publish flyers, brochures, and pamphlets on AIDS and will mail them to you at no cost or for a modest donation.
You can also go to any major bookstore and find any of a growing number of books on the subject. Some of the better ones are:
• AIDS: A SELF-CARE MANUAL
Edited by BettyClare Moffat, MA; Judith Spiegel, MPH;
Steve Parrish; Michale Helquist
IBS Press and Aids Project Los Angeles, 1987
• AIDS IN THE MIND OF AMERICA
Dennis Altman
Acorn Press, Doubleday, 1986
• THE AIDS YEARS: A CHRONICLE OF AIDS, THE EPIDEMIC OF OUR TIME
